I keep going back and forth on this. Apparently, fin keels are better (and preferred) than full keels for racing because they 1] are faster (less drag), and 2] can point higher, and finally 3] are apparently less prone to leeway? I first thought well sure that huge full... Read more

From the point of view of quantum physics... Could physicists agree what matter is? We see it, we describe it yet it resists intuitive understanding. Is matter really just energy and measurement, decoherence, splitting, whatever process that brings out single outcomes aka "matter"?

Many homeowners only think about repairs after a major problem appears. A small pipe leak, wall crack, electrical issue, or damaged tile may seem minor at first, but ignoring these problems can lead to expensive repairs later. Regular home maintenance helps improve safety, comfort, and the... Read more

The definition of infinity is that it is how many natural numbers there are. You can take those infinite natural numbers and slice them into an infinite number of infinite sets, each of which can then be sliced the same way ad infinitum. What does this mean/imply?

Humans and AI systems have the possibility to be competing systems in an environment of limited resources. Where the use of both people (as communities) and large energy and water consuming sites in the same areas (areas supplied by some economically available source), competition will ensue... Read more

Hi All SSDs have become incredibly fast and are now really affordable. My dirt-cheap (I have seen it as low as $78.00 here in Aus when on sale) Silicon Power 1TB SSD, as tested with CrystalDiskMark, achieves over 7 GB/s read and slightly less write speed. Their reliability, however, is not... Read more

I am reading Max Tegmark's book Our Mathematical Universe. On page 172, Tegmark wrote the following: "Two waves can pass through each other unaffected, like the circular waves in the water tank in Figure 7.6; at any time, their effects simply add together. In some places, we see peaks of the... Read more

I am currently reading Max Tegmark's book Our Mathematical Universe. Some of you are probably familiar with this book. On page 167, Tegmark wrote the following: "It's not only 'stuff' that's made of Lego-like building blocks. As we mentioned in Part I of this book, so is light, being... Read more

Consider railroad tracks along which synchronized clocks are placed. Along the tracks, a train is traveling westward (of course in space, “west” is only used to define a specific direction). The train also has clocks synchronized with each other, though naturally not synchronized with the... Read more

Hello , I have two PCB presented in the photo. The difference between them is the length of the inner line. I have extracted the s2p of the two of them. I have been told of a new preprint of Emilio Torrente-Lujan that revisits his publication Eur. Phys. J. C 74 (2014) 2744, arXiv:1209.0474 of coincidences in the electroweak scale. If I recall correctly we revised in the forum a lot of them, at the time of preprints, but I have... Read more
