Nature Communications, Published online: 28 July 2026; doi:10.1038/s41467-026-76019-z Despite advances in attosecond spectroscopy methods, observation of electron dynamics on natural timescales remains challenging due to the use of near-infrared pulses. Here, the authors demonstrate time-resolved all-attosecond transient absorption spectroscopy of Xe+ ions and other atoms by means of XUV pulses from high-harmonic generation as both pump and probe.
