Attosecond pulse trains conventionally demand precisely aligned harmonic emissions, a process akin to orchestral tuning before performance. However, newly described ‘attoquants’ bypass this need entirely through intermodal entanglement, generating pulses without phase-locking between harmonics. These quantum states arise from collective atomic behaviour where multiple indistinguishable sources contribute to radiation output.
