BACKGROUND Myeloid sarcoma is a rare extramedullary tumor of immature myeloid cells, often associated with acute myeloid leukemia. Primary intestinal myeloid sarcoma without hematologic disease is uncommon and can mimic gastrointestinal stromal tumor (GIST).
