Using particle motion to estimate sediment properties
admin
Shear is one of the fundamental mechanical parameter that bridges geological, engineering, and environmental aspects of the seafloor which also influences loss of acoustic energy. This study uses the ratio of the horizontal to vertical components of particle motion amplitudes to estimate the shear properties of sea bottom sediments. This method is demonstrated using simulated data as well as data measured at the New England Mud Patch. The post Using particle motion to estimate sediment propertie
