This article proposes a minimal formal model of lived continuity, modeling consciousness as a topological space of states. It introduces a central distinction between structural continuity, defined by the topology of the space, and chain continuity, defined as the connectivity of states via admissible local transitions under a variation constraint. This chain continuity corresponds to a form of ε-chainability applied to a qualitative state space. The main hypothesis is that the continuity of lived experience depends on the existence of chains of admissible transitions linking states within the space, independently of their global distance. This framework allows certain ruptures of consciousness to be reformulated as failures of chain connectivity, and explicitly distinguishes this property from global criteria such as informational integration.
