The research will focus on many-body open quantum systems , combining theoretical physics, numerical methods and computational modelling. The successful candidates will contribute to the development of theoretical and computational tools for quantum technologies. ๐ Warsaw, Poland ๐ฅ 2 positions available ๐ฐ PLN 8,000โ9,000 gross/month ๐งฎ Quantum statistical mechanics & many-body theory ๐ป Programming & numerical computations ๐ International and interdisciplinary research environment ๐ Application deadline: 30 September 2026 ๐ Starting date: from 1 November 2026 at the earliest โณ Duration: 36 months ๐ Ref.: MSz/23/2026 We are looking for candidates with a Masterโs degree in Physics or a related field . Candidates who have not yet formally obtained the degree may also apply, provided they submit documentation confirming the current stage of the degree-awarding process and obtain the degree before the start of employment. Candidates should have a strong background in quantum statistical mechanics and many-body theory , as well as programming skills and experience with numerical computations. Experience with open quantum systems , including master equations and/or quantum stochastic calculus, or alternatively with quantum optimal control or quantum information theory , will be an advantage. Familiarity with numerical tools for many-body quantum systems , such as exact diagonalization or tensor networks, as well as experience with version control and collaborative coding (GitHub) , is also desirable.
