Antimony is a critical metal for manufacturing and energy transition. Accurately understanding the global competition landscape of critical antimony raw materials (CARM) is essential for improving the resilience of the global antimony supply chain. This study constructs global CARM import competition network based on international trade data of CARM from 2015 to 2024. An improved direct competition intensity index is proposed to quantitatively measure the competition intensity among importing countries. Three major findings are obtained. First, the scale of global CARM trade network peaked in 2018 before entering a contraction phase, with supply shifting from China-centric dominance to a multipolar configuration—featuring rising exports from Tajikistan and Myanmar alongside a 44% decline in Chinese exports. Second, supply diversification has alleviated global CARM import competition in both scale and intensity. Third, China is the sole major CARM importer experiencing intensifying competitive pressure, owing to its over 90% reliance on antimony ores and concentrates. Policy priorities differ by stakeholder: major importing economies should deepen partnerships with Central and Southeast Asian suppliers, while China should accelerate overseas equity mining and advance recycling technologies to reduce dependence on primary antimony resources.
