I am French and I am a student studying mathematics and physics. I would like to get some information about how to model a bridge. My idea is the following: I would like to model a bridge using a mass-spring-damper system. Then, I would apply a mechanical vibration to make the bridge vibrate sinusoidally, and I would recover an electrical voltage using Faraday’s law by setting up a magnet and a coil. This would allow me to study the amount of energy that can be recovered from mechanical vibrations. The problem is that I don’t really know how to model the bridge itself. More specifically, I don’t know what materials I should use, how to model the damper, how to apply the mechanical vibration, how to generate and measure the voltage at the end, etc. If anyone could help me with the experimental setup or suggest a suitable way to model the bridge, I would be extremely grateful! Thank you very much in advance for your help!
