This study examined how innovation skills influence digital entrepreneurship among Peruvian university students. The study was prepared from a quantitative methodological perspective, a basic type, and a non-experimental causal correlational design. The sample consisted of 600 university students selected for convenience. The results indicate that innovation skills have positive effects on entrepreneurial skills (β = 0.886; p < 0.001) and digital entrepreneurship (β = 0.288; p < 0.001); and that entrepreneurial skills are influenced by digital entrepreneurship (β = 0.654; p < 0.001), in addition, entrepreneurial skills play an important mediating role between innovation skills and digital entrepreneurship (β = 0.579; p < 0.001), with indicators of optimal model adjustments (GFI = 0.972; RMSEA = 0.054; CFI = 0.993). The findings indicate the need to implement university programs to optimize innovation, creativity, and management strategies within educational settings. This study establishes that entrepreneurial capacities are the mechanism that enables the connection between innovation and sustainable digital action and the development of university education.
