But does everybody love the way it sounds? What kind of decisions are made when a hall like Bing is built, and how do they affect the sound? How do we make a concert hall sound special? I'm really happy that Scott Pfeiffer, an architectural acoustician, will be describing and demoing the characteristics of a concert hall that makes it sound great. What can an acoustic architect do to make all the participants in a concert happy? How do the shapes, materials and audiences combine to leave us smiling about the music, or confused about why we didn't hear the flute? Can we understand the vocalists? This is a talk and a discussion I've been wanting to have ever since Bing opened. FREE Open to the Public read more
