The Map of Steam This is every released Steam game with at least ten reviews — about 80,000 of them — arranged so that games which play alike sit close together. Positions come from SteamMaho's game-mechanics analysis blended with community tags: rare shared features pull games together, generic ones barely count. Zoomed out you see continents of design; zoomed in, individual games. Click any dot to open its page. The 90 region names were not written by anyone — each region is named by the most distinctive features its games share, which is why social deduction games live in a region called “Voting / Role Assignment”. Use the year filter to watch genres appear: bullet-heaven games after 2022, battle royale after 2017, walking sims growing through the 2010s. Honesty notes: the map is a 2D projection — local neighborhoods are reliable, long distances less so. Region labels are auto-generated and follow our taxonomy's vocabulary. Positions shift between map versions as the underlying analysis deepens.
