Liu, Mingxiang: Ontological Reconstruction of Sensory Perception and the Ultimate Dissolution of Chalmers' Hard Problem of Consciousness

Chalmers' "hard problem of consciousness"—why physical processes are accompanied by subjective experience—remains the ultimate challenge in contemporary philosophy of mind and cognitive science. All traditional theories have failed to solve this problem because they presuppose the false ontological premise that "the physical is qualitative-less and consciousness is qualitative". Based on the Ontology of Cognitive Succession and taking the unfalsifiable first principle that "the essence of cognit
