Abstract The recently described alpheid species Potamalpheops yamakawai Yamashita, Komai & Koreeda, 2024 is reported from Taiwan for the first time, with the identification confirmed by DNA barcoding of the 16S gene. The characteristics of the Taiwanese material are described and illustrated, together with colour photographs.
