Livestock manure resources are abundant in the upper Yellow River basin on the eastern Tibetan Plateau, where rapeseed (Brassica napus L.) is grown under cold, short-season alpine conditions. To identify a suitable organic fertilizer substitution proportion, a two-year randomized complete block field experiment was conducted on Chestnut soil (Kastanozem) to compare mineral fertilization with 25%, 50%, 75%, and 100% replacement of mineral N by an organic fertilizer produced from composted cattle
