Marine cargo insurance in the new risk landscape of international logistics: A review and influencing factors
This study reviews the role of marine cargo insurance in the increasingly complex risk environment of international logistics. Using a structured narrative review approach, the paper synthesizes three main streams of literature: (i) emerging risks in maritime transport, including climate change, supply chain disruption, and cargo crime; (ii) determinants of firms’ marine cargo insurance adoption; and (iii) the impact of digitalization and InsurTech on cargo insurance.
