Dr. Snehasis Bhakta, who graduated as a PhD. from our group in 2017, was recently appointed Assistant Professor at Cooch Behar College, Cooch Behar Panchanan Barma University, WB, India

Dr. Besnik Bajrami who graduated in 2009 from our group was recently appointed Laboratory Head for Biomarker Discovery at Boehringer Ingelheim in Germany.

We congratulate Dr. Abby Jones and Dr. Mohamed Sharafeldin from our group on being awarded Ph. D. degrees recently. Abby is a Research Scientist at Jackson Labs in Maine, and Mohamed is Postdoctoral Fellow at Oxford University in the UK with Prof. Jason Davies.

Drs. Karteek, Spundana, and Rusling recently published findings on toxicity of E-cigarettes in ACS Sensors. The research was highlighted by UConn Today: E-cigarettes ‘Potentially as Harmful as Tobacco Cigarettes’

UConn Today turns a spotlight on Islam Mosa’s research on ultra-thin supercapacitors. This is a first step towards building cardiac pacemakers which harness the patient’s own power. Dr. Jim Rusling was selected as the 2014 winner of the Bioelectrochemistry Prize of ISE Division 2, in recognition of his research activities on thin biosystems for bioelectrochemical applications, direct electron transfer with proteins, bioelectrochemical catalysis, and detection of cancer biomarkers.

Our collaborative project with Dr. Dixon, Dr. Davis, Dr. Kay, Dr. Carello, and Dr. Frank of the Department of Psychology; Dr. Kinsella-Shaw in the Neag School of Education’s Department of Kinesiology; and Dilip Kondepudi, a chemist at Wake Forest University was highlighted in CLAS news.
