Amelia Johannsen – Ceramic Artist My Story I’ve been throwing and hand-building since I was seven. Clay has always been my steady place—something that grounds me when life speeds up. I grew up near the woods in Portland, Oregon, and today work from a small home studio in the woods near Barcelona, Spain. The coast, fungi, tide marks, and weathered stone are constant references in my work, shaping the sculptural stoneware and ceramic vessels I create. I’m not a production potter and I don’t chase.
