Statistical Analysis of African Pea Seed Oil Extraction Using N-Hexane
African pea seed oil was extracted using solvent extraction and n-hexane as the solvent from different particle sizes (0.15 mm, 0.3 mm, 0.45 mm) of Pea seed, temperature range (40 oC, 60 oC, 80 oC) and extraction time intervals (60 min, 90 min, 120 min). Response surface methodology was used to optimize the extraction process. It was found that the highest oil yield was 13.18% and recorded at optimal conditions of particle size, temperature and time interval of 0.15 mm, 80 oC and 120 minutes res
